            1. Immigration Benefits for Military Families - Parole in Place 101

              Event Description

              Co-sponsored by MSBA Immigration Law Section and Military & Veterans Affairs Section

              Parole in Place ("PIP") is a discretionary benefit available to families of servicemembers and veterans. This CLE will cover a variety of topics pertinent to immigration attorneys and practitioners who represent servicemembers, veterans or immigrant families including:

              • Who qualifies and how to apply?
              • Understanding the difference between active duty, ready reserve and why it matters
              • Getting to know vital documents such as Leave and Earnings Statements, DD-214s, Military IDs, and Enlistment contracts and how to request them
              • Unraveling the rumors and recent changes in Immigration Law
              • Advice and tips from the experts

              Lunch will be provided.
